The John Cooper Works model is slightly faster thanks to its sport-tuned turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 301 horsepower. The PHEV lithium-ion battery pack needs about two hours of Level 2 charging to deliver about 18 miles of all-electric range.

Innovations on the Horizon

MINI loads its vehicles with innovative technology and comfortable interior features. The fun-to-drive PHEV and electric MINI models have 8.8-inch touchscreens with Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, Lane-Departure Warning, and Rear Seat Occupant Warning. Optional features include a panoramic sunroof, heated side mirrors, Adaptive Cruise Control, and genuine leather.

These innovative features will appear in upcoming electric models like the MINI Countryman Electric and a new MINI Cooper SE with a 54.2 kWh battery pack. These new models are expected to arrive in 2025, and they’ll feature the same quirkiness that MINI drivers have come to love.
